Cheltenham Festival tips: Novices' Chase trends - we help you find the winner of the race live on IT
NOVICES' HANDICAP CHASE TRENDS:
- Run within the past six weeks or so is important
- Look for horses carrying 11st to 11st10lb
- Finishing first or second last time helps
- Three or four previous chase runs is ideal
MAKE a mint with IMPERIAL AURA.
This year, the whole field fits the weight stat so that’s not a massive amount of use! But we can get rid of a few who didn’t finish in the first two last time out.
Precious Cargo, Torpillo, Jarveys Plate, Champagne Court, Paint The Dream, Highest Sun, Mellow Ben, Beakstown, Mitchouka, Daly Tiger, Lord Schnitzel and Trainwreck come up short there.
Galvin, Espoir De Guye and Earlofthecotswolds have been off the track for too long for the trends’ liking.
This hasn’t been a race for total outsiders and any one of Knight In Dubai, Champagne Mystery and De Plotting Shed would be the biggest priced winner in more than a decade by a considerable margin.
That leaves us with a battle between Hold The Note and Imperial Aura. The former has a massive negative in never having won over fences before.
It is surely a tall order to get off the mark in such a hot race. That said, there has been plenty of money about for Mick Channon’s hopeful.
So that leaves IMPERIAL AURA who has gone well on his two previous runs around here.
