Man in his 20s dies after being found in Southampton street with serious chest injuries as police la
THE death of a man in his 20s who was found lying in the street with serious chest injuries is being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.
The man was rushed to hospital but died after being found in Gilpin Close, Southampton, just before 1.40am on Saturday.
Detectives in Hampshire are now investigating the incident, but said they were "still trying to establish the circumstances of what has happened".
Police said nobody had been arrested but they are carrying out door-to-door inquiries and have increased patrols after the death.
A spokesman said: "We were called at 1.38am after he was found with serious injuries to his chest on the road in Gilpin Close, Southampton.

A cordon has been put in place in Gilpin Close in the Thornhill area of the city.
