Britain's Got Talent dog Buddy run over by a van as distraught owner Pippa begs fans for 5k to sav
Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Pippa Langhorne has revealed her pooch Buddy was run over by a van and has begged fans to help raise £5k to save him.
The adorable dog was knocked down while on a walk with his family and hospitalised for two days.
He now needs surgery in order to use his hind legs again.
Pippa, 29, and Buddy appeared on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent in 2011 capturing the nation's hearts as Pippa sang classical music while the puppy howled along.
Their adorable act bagged them a spot in the semi-finals, and has since made them a popular duo at dog shows and parties together.
However, Pippa is now unsure whether Buddy, who she describes as her "soulmate", will be able to continue performing after his recovery.
“I just don’t know after this accident how he’s going to be because I haven’t tried singing with him yet,” she said.
“He’s not good with other people at the moment. If anyone goes near his cage he thinks they’re going to hurt him.
“Everything that I have is because of him.”
The singer has set up a GoFundMe account to raise money as she revealed how she cancelled his pet insurance prior to the crash, thinking she wouldn't need it.
The fundraising bar on GoFundMe was initially set at £1,200, but has since been raised to £5,000 after Pippa received news that Buddy will require a hip operation.
Speaking to PA news agency about the terrifying ordeal, the mum-of-one said: “With lockdown and coronavirus, all my work's dried up.

“I cancelled my pet insurance at the beginning of lockdown because I thought I've got no work now this year, and that's all I rely on... my singing and Buddy.
“Little did I know he was going to get hit and I (would) have this bill. I just thought, 'I don't actually know how I'm going to pay for this'.”
Writing about her beloved dog on the GoFundMe page, Pippa wrote “…he’s watched me grow and birth my first babu and he’s the most incredible guardian for my son. Buddy is my absolute world!!”
